Defining Your Ideal Partner

Who is your ideal partner? If you’re seeking the man or woman of your dreams, this is an important question to ask yourself.
If you ask most people that question though, more often than not you’ll get a vague answer in response. How can you recognize the partner of your dreams if you don’t know who you’re looking for?
Imagine you were going to buy a new car. You would probably want to do some research prior to visiting a dealership. You’d likely have certain requirements that would guide you in your search for the perfect vehicle. What qualities are non-negotiable? Five-star safety rating? Good gas mileage? And which attributes would be nice, yet not necessary? Maybe for you it’s four-wheel drive and lots of cargo space? What about the features that would just be icing on the cake? A state-of-the-art sound system and heated seats? The more you know about what you want, the more likely you are to purchase a car that will meet your needs and that you’ll drive happily for years to come.
The same goes for choosing a partner!
The more you know about what you want and especially about what’s important to you, the more empowered you will be to choose a partner with whom you can share a lifetime of happiness.
You may want to give yourself the opportunity to find out what you think you want in a partner by writing a list of desired qualities. Be specific. Once you’ve written your list, you can even label your non-negotiable “must-have” qualities as A’s, the “those would be nice” qualities as B’s, and the “icing on the cake qualities as C’s. Often when you see it written out in front of you, you’re able to more easily discern which qualities are truly important and which would merely be icing on the cake.
When you define your ideal partner, you’ll be able to recognize him or her, and welcome that person into your life and into your heart!
